Gorilla-Napping Case Ends in Vermont

The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department is used to dealing with calls about moose and deer, but inside the public safety building in St. Albans, a first: a gorilla.

Sandy Miller, the owner of a store called Sandy's Sales in East Machias, Maine, says, "I figured I'd never get it back!"

The robotic ape named See-More was stolen from Miller's business, where he works as a lure to customers, waving to get them through the doors. He vanished August 31st, but a crack in the case came thanks to YouTube.

A friend of the gorilla owners posted a plea for See-More's safe return, and in a response straight out of the "you can't make this stuff up" file, the captor made his own YouTube video, demanding a million dollar ransom, but offering a slight apology. He told the Millers, "Alright, sorry."
