56-year-old Keith Walendowski has been charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct while armed and felony possession of a short-barreled shotgun or rifle after he opened fire on his lawn mower which he was having trouble starting.
A female resident who lives at the same address called authorities. Walendowski, who was reportedly drunk at the time, told police, "I can do that, it's my lawn mower and my yard so I can shoot it if I want."
Police, unimpressed by his arguments, arrested and charged him. If convicted he faces a maximum penalty of 6.25 years in jail and an $11,000 fine.
