A man has saved his pet dog from a shark attack by jumping into the water and punching the fish in the neck.

Greg LeNoir and his rat terrier Jake were swimming at a Florida Keys marina when the attack happened.

Sarah Palin has clearly added some sex appeal to the US Presidential race, but it wasn't obvious how much until a controversial YouTube video emerged featuring people who admitted they had masturbated to the Alaskan Governor. One woman even went so far as to say: “I am voting for Sarah Palin because she wants control of my vagina!”

Half-motorbike, half-bicycle - an Austrian inventor says his creation, the "ErockIT", is a cool electric vehicle.

"ErockIT" riders have to pedal to get the bike going, and the faster they pedal, the faster the motor goes.

The bike can reach speeds of up to 80 kilometres, or almost 50 miles, per hour and its inventor says it could revolutionise transport.

People from a village in India's eastern Jharkhand pierce their bodies in a bid to please the goddess 'Mansa'.

They believe that by piercing their bodies they will please their goddess who will protect them from snake bites.

The festival is called `Panchparagana' and is celebrated during the rainy season every year.

A BABY boy born with two heads has died after his parents took him home because they could not afford his medical care.

The Bangladeshi boy, named Kiron, was born on Monday by caesarean section and died at home late yesterday after developing a fever and breathing difficulties, paediatrician KS Alam said.

Kiron had attracted such attention that 150,000 people gathered at the clinic where he was cared for after his birth in Keshobpur, 135km from the capital Dhaka.

The birth of a Giant Panda baby is captured on video in what is being celebrated as Japan's first successful birth by an artificially inseminated panda in 20 years.

Giant Panda Tan Tan was the star of Kobe's Oji Zoo on Tuesday (August 26) after giving birth to Japan's first baby panda in 20 years to be born as a result of artificial insemination.

A BABY boy born with two heads has been put under police protection in Bangladesh because of the curiosity his birth has caused among locals.

The boy, named Kiron, was born by caesarean on Monday weighing 5.5kg in Keshobpur, 135km from Dhaka, gynaecologist Mohamad Abdul Bari said.

"He has one stomach and he is eating normally with his two mouths. He has one genital organ and a full set of limbs," he said.

"He was born from one embryo but there was a developmental anomaly."

Skinner, a 4-year-old "underdog" who lost in the early rounds last year, out-scrambled his short-legged challengers to become the 2008 "wiener."

The monkey was spotted at the automatic ticket gates at a train line in Shibuya Station in central Tokyo at about 0940am (0040 GMT).

The African Spurred Tortoise is paralysed in her two hind legs, but thanks to a pair of skates strapped to her, she leaves the other tortoises in the dust and has even started to mate.

Two people in a small sports plane are left hanging upside down for over two hours after crashing into a power line in southern Germany.

The German-registered plane was about to land at a small regional airport when the plane's wheel touched a 380,000 volt power line and got stuck.

A couple of hunters in northern Georgia (the state, not the country) claim to have found a carcass of the legendary creature known as Bigfoot (or Sasquatch, if you prefer).

The two hunters teamed up with a fellow named Tom Biscardi, head of a group called Searching for Bigfoot; they plan to hold a press conference on Friday in Palo Alto, Calif., to show off DNA evidence and photos--but not the body itself. That's apparently being kept under wraps.

A three-winged goose that was found in Florida recently will have a better life thanks to some human intervention.

The domestic Egyptian goose was found on a golf course near Hollywood in June.

It's three wings made it impossible for the goose to fly, or even walk.
